Manufacturas Hepyc was set up in 1947 in Hernani, Guipuzcoa. The new company made precision and cutting tools (hence the name, "Herramientas de Precisión Y Corte"), particularly cores and bearings in high speed steel and special tools.
Over the last 60 years, Hepyc has successfully overcome a series of crises in the cutting tool industry, staff restructuring and changes in the company´s management bodies.
The exceptional service it has always offered customers (industrial supplies and hardware stores), coupled with they loyalty it has enjoyed from its customers have been key factors in making Hepyc one of the leading companies in the cutting tool industry today.
1947:
Manufacturas HEPYC factory founded in Hernani.
1960s:
As a result of a downturn in the industry, Hepyc stops mass production to concentrate on producing special cutting tools.
1970s:
To promote sales and offer better customer service, Hepyc signs agreements with European manufacturers to complete its range of cutting tools.
1980s:
Hepyc becomes the first Spanish cutting tool brand to introduce drill bits and accessories for the building industry into its range.
1990s:
Changes in company management and start of a process of improvement and modernisation with a new industrial building and offices, a new branch in Madrid and improvements in processes.
2001:
Hepyc awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification
2003:
Beginning of international expansion onto new markets (France, Portugal, Belgium, Italy, etc.).
2005
Spanish hardware stores rank Hepyc as Spain’s Number 2 cutting tools brand (drill bits, cores, etc.).
2006:
The company begins to focus on total quality, with customer service identified as the corporate mission.
